Are you proactive or reactive?
Oct 03, 2023
Most people want a solution to their problem when it is too late.
They want a healthy diet when the disease arrives, peace when the chaos of a relationship is at its peak, and the mantra when the mindset is deeply ingrained. Reactive.
Proactive is preparing and getting ready to face the challenges that arrive or prevent them from coming. Maintaining a healthy, wholesome diet and a peaceful mind state can often keep disease at bay. A daily practice of meditation and mantra can often provide clarity in times of confusion and gift strong legs to stand on to weather the storm of human chaos.
Proactivity is simple and requires consistency.
Proactive: creating or controlling a situation rather than responding to it after it has happened, acting in anticipation of future problems, needs or changes.
Reactive: readily responsive to a stimulus, occurring as a result of stress or emotional upset, uncontrollable, mindless. Please note reactivity has a positive place in instinctive situations.
I am proactive most of the time, with slivers of reaction. The cool part of the reactive state is it's an internal gauge. When I catch myself reacting, I can hunt the restriction and tension, release it, and learn how to cope and control myself.
